Kevin Jones...
Kevin has had a varied singing career to date. He spent most of his youth in various amateur dramatic companies in the South of England and then in 1992 joined the cruise ship Canberra as a show singer and spent the next four years with different cruise lines singing around the globe. He has performed in the Royal Variety Show, spent four years as Jake in the Bootleg Blues Brothers performing everywhere from the London Palladium to Cyprus, Jersey, Germany and Watford! He then spent 7yrs as a mortgage broker in London before deciding that he couldn't escape the stage.
In 2002 he sold up, gave up his career and moved to Manchester. Kevin went to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Peter Wilson and Barbara Rowbotham and recent roles include Nero in La Incoronazione di Poppea(The Norfolk Trust), Goro in Madame Butterfly (Clonter Opera), Siward in Martin Butler's A Better Place (RNCM), Reuben in Jack Beeson's Dr Heidegger (RNCM), Archibald Grosvenor in Patience (Phoenix Opera), Frederick in Pirates of Penzance (Phoenix Opera), Marco in The Gondoliers (St Helens G&S Society) and Josef in Wiener Blut (Clonter Opera). Choral works include Handel's Messiah, Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms and Brian Tovey's Requiem for a Charred Skull.
Kevin is a virtuoso vocalist, and is able to handle the big band sound very well. He is particular influenced be Bobby Darin, Frank Sinatra and Harry Connick Jnr. Although Kevin has the talent to impersonate vocalists, Kevin feels that it is important to sing in the same style but to also add a personal touch.
Kevin is delighted to be singing with the Dave Pearce Orchestra, and feels very comfortable and happy to be back singing the music he loves.
