Helen Rodgers...
Helen studied music at The University of Huddersfield and graduated in 2005. Although the degree was mainly classical, Jazz has always been the main focal point of Helen's music career. Whilst at Huddersfield, Helen sang with the university's Big Band, directed by Sean Miller. Alongside this, she sings with many different jazz ensembles for various functions and events. In April 2004, Helen performed at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester, accompanied by Brian Pendleton (ex pianist for the Syd Lawrence Orchestra) for a Rotary event, and since then has gone from strength to strength with her own quartet.
Helen was also a backing singer on ITV's "The Royal", and in 2005 sang the love song 'Fall for You' for the film "The Kingmaker"
Helen has been influenced by the great jazz singers of the past, and sings with a maturity beyond her age. Helen has the ability of making big band vocals sound so easy, and sings them with what appears to be complete ease.
